My mother hired a massage lady for the baby and she's far too rough

baby is 2 months. my mother found a woman who comes every morning to oil and bathe him, the way it was done for me and my brother. she's quick and very confident and he screams from start to end. she stretches his legs, presses his head and says crying is good for the lungs my mother says all babies cry for it and I'm being a first time mother about it. maybe I am. but I sit in the next room with my laptop pretending to work and can't focus on anything did your babies hate it at first and then settle? or do I just tell her to stop

In my home in Bengal my mother did the oil massage herself for my son, with mustard oil, very slow and soft. He slept after every time. He cried only in the bath. If your baby cries the full time maybe her hands are too hard. You can watch her some days and then do it yourself. Baby knows mother's hand.

my mother says I'll press too lightly and it won't do anything. but the soft version sounds more like what I want for him. will watch for a week and try the legs part myself

My mother also called a lady for my daughter. First week she cried a lot, then she got used to it and slept well after. But the head pressing my mother stopped, she said not needed. You are giving the money, you can tell her softer and no head. Say nicely, she will listen.
