How do you tell family that a school is still only an option?

Mentioning Creative Kids Preschool (Branch 3) at home has somehow become a family announcement that we're changing schools. We haven't contacted anyone yet. I want to reset expectations without debating imagined merits. Has anybody found a polite way to say we're simply collecting information?
