grandson cries every time he goes down a snake. do i let him win

plays snakes and ladders with me most evenings at our place. if he lands on the long snake near the top the board ends up on the floor. his mother says just let him win, he's four. i am not convinced

no idea at four. ours is at the stage of trying to eat the dice

That stage passes quickly, and then you get this one. With our son we let him win some games and lose others, and we made a big show of being terrible losers ourselves, sulking dramatically every time we slid down. He found it hilarious and slowly started copying the joke instead of the tears. It took most of a year, though.

the dramatic sulking worked here too. the 6 yr old now does it better than i do, which is a separate problem
