Found the 12 minute tea solution
Steel bowl and two spoons on the kitchen floor. The 1yo stirs, bangs, offers me invisible food, and I get exactly the time it takes to make tea 😂 Minute 13 he wants the real thing, so I'm not getting greedy.

This worked with both of mine. With my daughter we later added a small steel tumbler and some dry pasta, with one of us watching, and it bought a little longer. The novelty does wear off, so we kept the bowl out of sight between uses. Does he do it right next to you, or is he happy a few steps away?
Right at my feet, which is fine honestly because then I know where he is. Hiding it between uses is smart, it was living on the low shelf and he'd definitely get bored.
Dry pasta, trying tomorrow 😅

With my younger one the bowl worked for a few weeks, until he figured out that the real pots were in the next cupboard. How long has this been working for you, or was today the first time?
Second day, so very early. Yesterday was also exactly 12 minutes though, I timed it. Will report back when he discovers the cupboard.
