Asking for information without inviting a school ranking

A family friend mentioned CHIREC International School, and we've decided to make a factual enquiry. Every discussion since has turned into somebody's ranking of schools they haven't visited. I'd rather know dates, requirements and the general day structure before forming an opinion. How do you keep a family comparison factual?

Keep the shortlist criteria limited to things your family can actually verify.

Ask people to distinguish what they know directly from what they've heard.

The distinction between a source and an opinion is the missing part of our debate.
