Our teenage daughter had one disappointing assessment and a relative immediately called her unmotivated. The label deserves correcting, though doing it in front of everyone risks drawing even more attention to her. Any experience with stopping these remarks quietly?

We simply stop sharing marks beyond the people who need to know them.
