Since about 7 months our daughter wants only my partner. I'm home by 6 most evenings. If I pick her up she cries and leans out the other way. My partner is at home on a career break so they're together all day, I understand why. Still stings a bit. Does this pass or do I need to do something differently?
Ours went through this at around the same age, except it was me he wanted and my partner got the screaming. It lasted about two months for us. What helped my partner was taking over one thing completely, no handing back, even if there was crying for the first few days. These days it's my partner who gets the 'only you' treatment some evenings 😂
Is there one thing she lets you do without crying? Bath, a walk, a particular song?
Bath, yes. That's the one time she's happy with me. Maybe I build from there.
