3on Does a 'feeder' playschool really help with big-school nursery admission later?
From the admissions side, at the school where I work the playschool's name carries no weight in itself. What sometimes shows is that a child who has been in a group setting copes better on interaction day, and any decent playschool gives that. I'd choose on how she is looked after, not on promised admissions.
4on Our one year old cries at every new face, and we have no family nearby to practise on
Same few faces, often: that matches what we see in the youngest classes at school. The children who settle fastest usually aren't the ones who've met the most people. They're the ones who've had a few steady adults.
