My elder one used 'too hot' the same way at that age. Even for ice cream once. What worked for us was not arguing about the word. We'd say okay, have it after one bite of rice then, and move on. Within a few weeks she stopped bothering because it got no reaction. Small portions helped too ❤️

We pay full for our elder one's tuition teacher in the holidays. She's been with us four years and haggling in May feels wrong to me. But I know not everyone can, and three weeks is a lot.
