I am two months in with a 7 month old and for us it hasn't improved yet, the clash just moved to different days. Fixed days make planning easier, but one changed meeting breaks the whole week. Flexible days handle changes better, but then every Sunday becomes a negotiation. I still haven't decided which is worse.

We didn't always. We asked at the end of each visit what the next one was for, and the desk usually knew. Twice it turned out to be more than routine and I just put him on speaker for the part with the doctor.

We split it by type of visit. My husband came for the scans and anything where a decision was likely, and I went alone for the routine checks. The downside was that he missed the small questions that come up at routine visits, and those added up. I would still do it this way, but I'd write those questions down for him afterwards.
