We understand admissions better than the actual course

We can explain every step of an application to our teenager, but when he asks what an ordinary week in the field will involve, we become vague. I am worried the family conversation is all about getting in and very little about whether he would enjoy the work. How do people find grounded information without treating promotional brochures as the entire picture?

Try asking a current student what a rough week looks like, including the boring parts. Promotional talks tend to skip those.
