There are several academies nearby with similar fees and glossy Instagram pages. During a trial, what tells you the coaching is actually good — coach-child ratio, drills, game time, safety, communication, or something else?
Ask how much actual practice each child gets in a group. A 60-minute class can still mean ten minutes of movement if the batch is too large. Our child reacted better once we explained the change in advance instead of announcing it on the day.
During a trial I watch how the coach treats the least skilled child, not the best one. That tells me much more about whether we will stay long term.
Thank you. I like that this does not require changing everything at once. We review the activity at the end of the term rather than after one bad class. We made the change gradually rather than all at once.
